Accountant — Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially minded Accountant to join our fast-growing fintech team in Muscat. You will own the full accounting function, from daily operations to strategic financial reporting, and play a key role in supporting business decisions and investor relations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, and reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements, delivering accurate and timely insights to management.
Develop and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts, track burn rate, manage liquidity positions, and nurture strong relationships with banking partners.
Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow to support strategic decision-making.
Build and maintain investor-ready financial models, perform variance analysis, and provide actionable insights on cost drivers and expense trends.
Ensure full compliance with Omani tax regulations, local laws, and IFRS standards, and prepare all required filings accurately and on schedule.
Coordinate audits and manage relationships with banks, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Maintain and improve accounting systems, internal controls, and financial reporting tools.
Provide financial insights to management supporting growth and operational efficiency.
Handle investor and board financial reports when required.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or CMA is preferred.
Minimum 6 years of experience in banking, fintech, or other financial institutions.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial management, and compliance.
Solid knowledge of Omani tax laws and IFRS.
Proven ability to manage the full finance cycle independently.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, or ERP systems.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
